What is TCI?
Transcervical insemination is a method of introducing sperm directly into the uterus, bypassing the cervix, using endoscopic equipment.
Most of the sperm may not penetrate the cervix after conventional vaginal insemination - this may be especially true for frozen or refrigerated semen, or in cases of reduced fertility in the female or male dog.
How is TCIperformed ?
The bitches are inseminated in a standing position without the use of sedation. The owner supports the dog during the procedure. Endoscopic equipment allows you to visually assess the condition of the vagina and cervix and ensure easy fertilization. The procedure is painless and usually takes 15-30 minutes.
Planning forTCI?
It is ideal to schedule a consultation in advance of the date of TCI (i.e. pre-estrus or early in the cycle).
The appointment is held twice with an interval of 24-48 hours. The decision on when to perform TCI is based on ovulation.
Advantages of TCI?
- Visualization of the procedure - the clarity of the picture allows you to perform the procedure not "at random".
- Assessment of the state of the reproductive tract - anatomical defects, septicaemia, inflammatory processes.
- Exclusion of the "vaginal factor".
- Injection of sperm directly into the uterus, much closer to the eggs.
- There is no need to use anesthesia! Anesthesia risks, reactions to suture material, etc. are eliminated.

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)
A common intestinal virus is not capable of causing a fatal disease, but under certain circumstances (stress, genetic predisposition of certain breeds) it can mutate and cause systemic vasculitis and death of the animal.
